A cracked rear lens or a camera that shakes and rattles are the two iPhone 13 camera complaints you will see most. They need two totally different parts, and quoting the wrong one kills your margin.
Diagnose before you order
- Shaking / rattling image: OIS motor failure — replace the whole module
- Cracked outer lens only: replace the lens glass, keep the module
- Black photos, no crash: flex or board fault — check the camera flex cable first
Teardown sequence
- Remove the two bottom pentalobe screws, heat the display 60–80 °C, open from the bottom edge
- Disconnect the battery first — always
- Remove the display and metal bracket, then the rear camera cover plate
- Unscrew the module, transfer the gasket, and torque gently on reassembly
Full module stock for the iPhone 13 line and the camera parts collection ships same-day from Shenzhen via DHL.
The trap: swapped wide and ultra-wide
The 13 has two rear modules with near-identical footprints. Order by position, not by "main camera" — the wide and ultra-wide are not interchangeable, and the flex connectors are keyed differently so a wrong part will not seat. Check our cross-model camera reference if you service mixed iPhone fleets.
FAQ
After the swap, photos are grainy in low light. The replacement module was not OIS-calibrated to the board — genuine-spec modules avoid this.
